Shawn was a 1990 graduate of Catholic High School. He served four years in the army and was stationed mainly in Korea, but traveled extensively during his service time. After his military service, he studied respiratory therapy, received his degree and was currently working with Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine.

Shawn loved to travel, and was blessed with the opportunity to visit many states in the U.S. and also traveled abroad. And it seems that anywhere he went, he could find a good Cajun meal to remind him of home. Shawn was also a great cook. As an avid LSU fan, he enjoyed many meals with the family while watching the games. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger and certainly didn't forget a face. He loved life and lived every day to the fullest. He will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his son Shawn David Robicheaux Jr. of New Iberia; his parents, Harold J. and Brenda Trahan Robicheaux; his sisters Cassie Primeaux and husband, Al, and Danielle Dugas and husband, Todd, all of New Iberia, Shanon Hebert and husband, Chad, of Chatom, Ala.; his former wife and close friend Michelle Speer and husband, Paul, and their son Joshua Paul Speer; his roommate and best friend Steven Matthew Sanders; paternal grandparents, Dalton and Vernice Menard Robicheaux; 10 nieces and nephews who he loved dearly Heather Dejesus, Sunni Primeaux, Jazzi Hebert, Kacie Primeaux, Angel Dejesus, Dylan Dejesus, Trentt Dugas, Courtlyn Johnson, Trenatee Dugas and Braden Primeaux; and a great-nephew Myles Jones.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wallace and Agnes Montet Trahan; and a niece Holly Elizabeth Robicheaux.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Shawn Robicheaux Jr., Al Primeaux, Chad Hebert, Todd Dugas, Craig Robicheaux, Scotty LeBlanc, Marc McAnally, Ron Migues, Joel Bienvenue, and Chad Robicheaux.

I am extremetly sorry to hear about your son, Shawn. I was in New Iberia for Thanksgiving recently. My Mom, Eula, told me about it today as she read it on the paper. My heart goes out to you at this time of extreme pain. I pray that God will strengthen you as time goes by. That is a tough loss! I did not know you had a son in Grapevine, Tx. at Baylor. "
