CHS falls to Northside

SCOTT — Kevin Broussard had 24 points as Northside beat Catholic High 67-36 Monday in the Acadiana Shootout.

Nick Syrie had nine points and Alex Hoffpauier added eight for the Vikings, who jumped out to a 23-12 first quarter lead in taking the win.

Quinn Lemieux led CHS with 12 points and Jordan Jones had eight points in the loss.

Byrd 59, Loreauville 45

MORGAN CITY — Miles Liner had 24 points as Byrd High beat Loreauville 59-24 at the Morgan City Tournament Monday.

Jimmy Frye added 15 for Byrd, which outscored LHS 16-7 in the third to take control of the game.

Eddie Gaddison had 24 points to lead Loreauville.

University Park 68, St. Martinville 66

BREAUX BRIDGE — Terence Bonhomme scored a gaem-high 30 points but it was University Park that rallied for the win over St. Martinville Senior High 68-66 Monday at the Breaux Bridge Tournament.

Shantley Batiste had 16 points and Deion Narcisse added 10 for the Tigers.

Individual statistics for University Park were not available.

Jennings 64, New Iberia 34

LAFAYETTE — Bianca Alexander led a trio of Jennings players in double-figures as the Lady Bulldogs beat New Iberia 64-34 Monday at the Powerade Shootout.

Octavia Lawdins and Shalyn Riley each had 10 for Jennings, which led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Shalicia Rochon led NISH with 13 points.

Westminster 61, Loreauville 22

LEROY — Katherine Myers had 19 points and Jasmine King added 13 as Westminster Christian Academy easily handled Loreauville 61-22 in the North Vermilion Tournament Monday.

WCA shut out Loreauville in the second quarter while building a 30-6 halftime lead.

D’Andra Joseph and Theresa Brooks each had eight points for LHS.

North Vermilion 35, Delcambre 28

LEROY — Courtney Chargois scored 18 points as North Vermilion beat Delcambre 35-28 in the NVHS Tournament.

Jaci Trahan, Heather Broussard and Kellie Romero each had seven points for Delcambre.

Donaldsonville 48, Centerville 23

BREAUX BRIDGE — Kendra Coleman had 15 points and Bianca Harvey added 13 as Donaldsonville beat Centerville 48-23 Monday in the Breaux Bridge Tournament.

DHS outscored Centerville 18-0 in the first quarter and cruised home with the win.

Nashanta Benjamin scored 14 points. Luv Blackburn added seven points for Centerville in the losing effort.
