Prefers hearing fireworks

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 2:09 PM CST

Before the fireworks ban the neighborhood would come together and become a place where we had fun popping fireworks, especially the pretty ones.

I live in a neighborhood full of diversity. Holidays and popping pretty fireworks seemed to bring us together. All differences were laid aside in order to have fun.

The first year of the ban was very memorable. The New Year of 2007 my neighborhood went nuts. There was gunfire from everywhere for about 20 minutes non-stop. I was in my house praying for protection from all those bullets. New Years of 2008 was the same.

On the 4th of July, there were people taking the risk and popping pretty fireworks. Let’s not forget about gunfire; it was there also. It went on for about a week.

I miss all the pretty fireworks that the neighborhood would pop.

I would rather hear fireworks popping for 2009; not the sound of live ammunition whizzing around my home.

Because of this ban the good people have suffered for the bad. The good people of this neighborhood are suffering for the really bad.

So now you can see my dilemma. Fireworks ban: Good or bad?

It’s a subject that has me ducking and dodging.

Happy Holidays and God Bless.
