Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Ray F. Eastin, the former Dolores Bodin,  75, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Greene officiating.  Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. 

A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Eastin passed away at 9:42 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center from complications following surgery.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday with a Rosary at 7 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen at 9 a.m. on Saturday until service time.

Mrs. Eastin was employed by Iberia Parish School Board as a Title I Instructor and retired after twenty seven years of employment. She worked at Center Street Elementary and Magnolia Elementary where she was affectionately known as “Miss Dee”.

She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ray F. Eastin of New Iberia; her daughters, Cynthia E. Ducote and her husband Mark, Kim E. Martin and her husband Danny all of Lafayette; her sons, Kevin Eastin of Lafayette and Scott Eastin of Houston; her three grandchildren, Brent Venable, Holden Martin and Marie Ducote and her sister, Gaynell Barras of Loreauville and her three daughters and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozare and Lydie Primeaux Bodin and her brother in law, Alton J. Barras.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Eastin, Scott Eastin, Danny Martin, Mark Ducote, Brent Venable and Michael LeBlanc.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
