Drastic changes ahead

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 2:09 PM CST

Drastic changes are on the way, and none of them are particularly good that I can see. Let’s not even discuss higher taxes. They are coming soon. Let’s discuss what will soon happen to the moral fiber of this nation. Our President-elect has promised that his first official act will be to pass the Freedom of Choice Act that will legalize even partial birth abortion. This act will legalize the murder of infants, denying them the right to life. This is a direct attack on the Church and an affront to the Almighty.

Whereas Mr. Obama might declare that “culture wars are so nineties,” I would state unequivocally that they not only exist in 2008 but are rampant. In their fury over Proposition 8, homosexual groups like Bash Back are now attacking churches in Lansing, Michigan and elsewhere by rushing the pulpits and intimidating conservative worshippers. The moral fiber of America is disappearing before our eyes thanks to liberals who support such actions.

As further evidence of moral decay, the American Humanist Association is using this holiday season to suggest to non-thinking Americans that morality can exist without God. Attacking God during the holiday season is nothing new for atheists and agnostics, but when added to the other “changes” being offered by Mr. Obama and his liberal democrat minions, I wonder if there will ever be an end to it. I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes on judgment day. I invite people everywhere to follow the decline of American moral values and refuse to return our members to Congress who vote in support of legislation designed to contribute to the decline of American and Christian values in the next election cycle.

" to amy: yes, we have a freedom of choice in this country. In spite of that, if you choose any other belief other that that in Christ Jesus (ie, nature, buddha, allah, satan, etc) you are doomed to h*ll. The Bible says every knee will bow to Him, and that means EVERY,including all who choose to reject salvation in Christ. You may laugh and call me narrow minded but I'll be in Heaven one day. Let your buddha or allah or animal gods save you then. You can have values, and be a "good person" but they won't get you toheaven. "

" You are right; let me just say that Christian values are based upon the word of God. Other's values are based on? Our founding fathers said One Nation Under GOD! Christian people go to many different churches with the one thing in common God and His Word, the Bible. Are you saying that your "religion" does not teach Christianity? I'm proud to be American also, however when someone who worships their "God of Tunafish, etc." wants to take away what my country and the God upon which it was founded on.... well then you will ruffle a few Christian feathers.LLTB "

" Christians are not the only people with values. This is the second letter in one day published by The Daily Iberian to profess such narrow-minded thinking. Thankfully, we live in a country where people have the freedom to practice the religion of their choice. Our founding fathers knew that a society that respected the religious views of all people would be the most progressive and productive. I'm proud to be part of it. "

" You are so right! Please keep posting a "running tab" of all elected officials who vote to support any such Anti-Christian activity. Remember in our defense of liberals taking Christ away we as Christians are still to obey and honor Christ in our defensive tactics. At what point in American history did Christians quit playing for the offense and play on the defense? It only takes one very very small hardly noticed hole in the wall for a rat to get inside. Once inside they quietly procreate and remain hidden until they outnumber us. Ambush shows cowardly character. LLTB "
