The RIF program, which the school has been involved with for the past 25 years in affiliation with the national RIF program, is intended to provide students with quality books to improve literacy.
“All 349 students in the school are expected to come by,” said School librarian Charlar Brew during the event. Students filed in by class, with many in Halloween costume.

“Three times a year the kids get to choose a book, and the Parent Teacher Committee pays for it,” Roberson said.
Parents are actively involved in the distribution program, with some volunteering to help distribute books at the event. Each child is allowed to select a book. The event is coordinated with career day.
