Mr. LeBlanc left a legacy for his hometown as the pharmacist of over 40 years, having graduated from Loyola University after serving in World War II. After a brief stop in Sulphur, he and his bride moved home to Delcambre where he started his business. He also was instrumental in securing doctors to serve the town of Delcambre. To this end, the family wants to express a special thank you to Dr. Kate Lee and her family for all of the years of service to the people of Delcambre. He also served on the State Board of Pharmacy for three terms. Mr. Richard was very active in civic affairs and was a past president of the Lions Club and was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
For over 50 years, Mr. Richard was an extreme LSU fan, often listening to the games on his radio when the games were not televised. He was also very proud to be a Saints fan and remembered the Saints very first game. The house that he and his wife built in Delcambre served as a popular gathering place for family and friends.
