New Iberia Senior High turned the ball over as many times Friday as the Yellow Jackets had all season, leading to a 56-14 loss to L.W. Higgins in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs on Friday.

The Delcambre Panthers had more success, beating LaSalle 35-22 in a Class A playoff to set up a second-round home game against Delhi Charter.

NISH committed six turnovers, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Three other turnovers came on New Iberia's side of the field, leading to quick TDs for Higgins, which improved to 8-2 overall and will travel to face Mandeville in the second round.
