Dixmae D. Doucet

ST. MARTINVILLE — Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Nolan James Doucet Sr., the former Dixmae “Ms. Dixie” Dautreuil, 63,  at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Nic Daniels officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Martinville Baptist Cemetery. 

A native of Sulphur and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs.Doucet  died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mrs. Doucet was a member of the Eastern Star-New Iberia Wisteria Chapter No. 61. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking.

She will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday until service time.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Nolan James Doucet Sr. of St. Martinville; four children, Nolan James Doucet Jr. and his wife Sharon, Dixmae Doucet Jr. and Rodney John Doucet and his wife Christina all of St. Martinville and Dwight Paul Doucet and his wife Merna of Scott; five grandchildren, Lacey Lyn Doucet, Brandon James Doucet, Jason Paul Doucet, Amber Lyn Doucet and Brooke Marie Doucet; one great grandchild, Janae Michelle Matthews; two brothers, Dwight Paul Dautreuil of St. Martinville and Robert Dautreuil of New Iberia and four sisters, Linda Faye Dugas and her twin sister Dianna Mae Romero both of St. Martinville, Lustria Martin of Port Barre and Vickie Walker of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Joseph and Electa Melancon Dautreuil and one brother, Elden Dautreuil.

Pallbearers will be Nolan Doucet Jr., Dwight Doucet, Rodney Doucet, Roy Romero, David Romero and Brandon Doucet.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Romero and Paul Romero.
