Steven P. Bellomy

Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Steven Paul Bellomy, 43, at 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 6, 2008, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 10 p.m. on Wed-nesday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday until service time.

A native of Cheneyville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bellomy passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday Nov. 3, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Bellomy was a field X-Ray technician currently employed by Accurate NDE and Inspection for the past five years and was the owner of Storage R Us in New Iberia. He loved riding and racing his Harley-Davidson, fishing, the outdoors, getting together with family and friends, and enjoyed rice and gravy, cornbread and cheesecake. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Bellomy, Sarah Bellomy, and Kristin “Chick” Bellomy all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Noah and Addison Breaux of New Iberia; stepfather, Floyd Billemarette; and brothers, Ricky Bellomy and wife Denna of Lafayette, Chris Bellomy and wife Tina of Bunkie, and Michael White and wife, Heather, of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph C. Bellomy and Louena Michot.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bourque, Charles Brignac, Orien LeBlanc, Derek Bellomy, Richard Redmon Jr., Bryan Michot, and Craig Mainord.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Louisiana Chapter, 3636 South I-10 Service Road, Suite 304, Metairie, LA 70001.
