Doris P. Dartez Funeral services for Doris Paul Dartez ,87, will conducted at 11 a.m.Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Charles Langlois, Officiating Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum, with military graveside services by V.F.W. post 1982 Honor Guard. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday Nov. 4, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., reopen Wednesday Nov. 5, 2008, at 8 a.m. until services. With a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 4, 2008. A native of Iberia Parish and a residence of New Iberia, Mr. Dartez died at 3:46 p.m. Sunday Nov. 2, 2008, at a New Iberia Hospital. Mr. Dartez was a member of the American Legion Post No. 335 and the VFW Post No. 1982 in New Iberia. He was a member of the VFW Honor Guard, member of the WOW Camp No. 34, Shell Retirement Club. He received 4 Silver Stars in WWII in the Pacific Campaign. He is survived by his wife: Bertha LeBlanc Dartez of New Iberia, Sons, Rodney Paul Dartez and his wife Dawn Racca of New Orleans, Steve Joseph Dartez and his wife Chiara Benedetti of Haughton; brother, Lloyd Paul Dartez and New Iberia; sisters, Bertha D. Breaux and Anna Mae D. Judice of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Shawn, Matthew, Andrew Dartez, Jeremy, Darian Dartez, Destin Duhon; great-grandchild, Jackson Dartez. Mr. Dartez was preceded in death by his father Anatole Dartez and mother Clara Hebert Dartez; four brothers, Neville “Stan” Dartez, Nelton Dartez, Roy Dartez , Johnny Dartez. Pallbearers will be Shawn Dartez, Andrew Dartez, Matthew Dartez, Jeremy Dartez, Destin Duhon, Darian Dartez. Honorary pallbearer Bryan Judice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doris name to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
