Benedito A. Gesualdi

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 25th at David’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Benedito “Benny” Abreu Gesualdi passed away at his home on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer.

Benny was born on March 10, 1929, in his hometown of Itaperuna, in the state for Rio de Janeiro  Brazil.  He moved to Lafayette, in 1950 and attended USL (formerly SLI) majoring in electrical engineering.

He was employed by Schlumberger in New Iberia for over 30 years.  Benny was also the owner and founder of Invictos Electronics and Discount Music Center.  He enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling and reading.  His hobbies were building amplifiers and repairing old radios.  He looked forward to spending time with friends and family and most of all the love of his life, his wife.  Benny you were so loved and will be missed.  You will always be here in spirit and will always remain in our hearts.

Survivors include his wife Genevieve (Genny), one son Eric and his wife Lorie Gesualdi of League City, TX; two step-daughters, Karen and her husband Jason Boudreaux of Coteau,  and Shelia Breaux of Oakland, Cailf., three grandchildren Erika Gesualdi and partner Ronald Linderman of League City, TX; Michaele` Abreu Gesualdi also of League City, TX; and Brandi Armentor and her husband Scott Derouen of Coteau; Step-grandson, Chase Anthony Boudreaux; three great-grandchildren, Zoie Marie Linderman, Brennan Scott and Braylee Renee Derouen. He is also survived by one brother Jose` de Abreu Gesualdi and his family of Itaperuna, Brazil.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Jose’ and Rita Abreu Gesualdi, his sisters Rita Abreu Gesualdi and Leda Gesualdi and his brother Oswaldo Gesualdi, all of Brazil.

Pallbearers will be Eric Abreu Gesualdi, Michaele’ Abreu gesualdi, Alexander Gesualdi, Oran Broussard Sr., Kearney Broussard, Orand Broussard Jr., Marcus Broussard, Nuxy Romero, Jason Boudreaux, Chase Boudreaux, Scott Derouen and Brennan Derouen.

His family request that visiting hours be observed at David’s Funeral Home from 9 a.m. till the time of service.

In lieu of flower donations may be made in Benny’s name to The Multiple Mylonena Society or the The American Diabetes Society.
