The fall and future months are filled with art and culture for downtown New Iberia, much of which is musical, some of which is historical and some of which is visual.

Through Louisiana Cross-roads, blues guitarist Tab Benoit and musician and songwriter Leon Medica are coming to the Sliman Oct. 17.

Susan Cowsill and Grammy winner Terrance Simien are coming Nov.14.

Thirty Years of the Radiators are coming Jan. 29, The Bad Roads with David Egan and Pat Breaux are coming Feb. 13 and 20 Years of Steve Riley and The Mamou Playboys are coming March 25.

Louisiana Crossroads director Todd Mouton said it has been several years since Louisiana Crossroads has brought so many performances to New Iberia.

And this year, several of the performances will be on Friday evening.

“By popular demand, we’re back,” Mouton said.

Louisiana Crossroads, said Mouton, offers a different kind of set up for performers. Benoit and Medica’s show, “may be a little quieter — but that doesn’t mean Tab’s not going to tear it up.”

Also, Mouton interviews the performers and audience members can ask questions.

“It’s a chance to really hear about the artist and get to know them better,” he said.

“It’s almost like a living room kind of concert ... it really opens the audience up to a more personal connection.”

Tickets are available at the Cyr-Gates Community Center at City Park for $10 apiece.

An Art Walk and a Red Dot Tour are coming up Nov. 8, as well.
