Regular hours for the registrar’s office are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Iberia Parish registrar Mildred Adams said her office will extend its hours until 7 p.m. Monday.
Adams said she will also have enough staff on hand to register people this Saturday, election day for New Iberia City Council districts, a judgeship and several other races, though elections “will take priority.”
Adams said the flow of people registering is in keeping with past years.
“People realize the deadline is approaching and they’re coming in to take care of business,” she said.
Those who have questions about voter registration can reach the Iberia Parish registrar’s office at 369-4407, St. Mary registrar’s office at 828-4100, ext 360 and St. Martin registrar’s office at 394-2204.
