James W. Locks Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. James Wilson Locks Jr., 74, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, St. Edward Catholic Church, New Iberia,  with Rev. Msgr. Ronald Jr., celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, 4 to 10 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and resume on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 from 7 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home.

A resident of New Iberia, he died on Friday, September 26, 2008, 4:20 p.m. at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was a St. Edward Catholic Church; member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Peter Claver, member of Prosper Bijou Assembly No. 16 4th Degree Knights of Peter Claver.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Rose Voorhies Locks of New Iberia;  three sons, Calvin Locks of New Iberia,  Chris Locks of Oakland, Calif., James Zeno of New Iberia; one daughter, Rose Locks Bonnet  of Alameda, CA; stepsons, Michael Garrette of Oakland, Calif., Allen Garrette of Jeanerette and Oliver Garrette Sr., of New Iberia;  two sisters, Lorenza Fontenot, Texas City, Geraldine Pushia of Galveston; 12 grand-children; 21 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, one sister-in-law, Lizzie Drake of St. Martinville; special nieces and nephews, Eva Lewis, Martha Fontenette, Mary Linden, Nettie Livings, Edward Brown Sr., Catherine Johnson, step nieces and nephews, Willis Drake Jr., Kenneth Drake, Kawaski P. Drake, Delores Menard, Rose Marie Roberts, and Darlene Drake, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is joined in glory by his parents, Madeline Colar Johnson and step-father, William Johnson, and James W. Locks Sr.; two daughters, Helen Marie L. Archangel and Elizabeth Williams; two sisters, Mary Domingue and Mabel Brown

Honorary Pallbearers, Members of the 3rd Degree Knights of Peter Claver; members of Prosper Bijou Assembly No. 16 Knights of Peter Claver.
