Tyrail Gilliams, of New Iberia, is accused in a shooting that took place on Sept. 10, in which Gilliams was involved in an argument with another man in the parking lot of a business in the 500 block of West Admiral Doyle Drive, the sheriff’s office said. During the argument Gilliams pulled out a handgun and shot the victim twice, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s office Public Information Officer Wendell Raborn said the victim in the shooting was taken to an area hospital, treated and later released. Raborn would not provide additional details about the identity of the victim or the nature of the argument which took place.
