Homegoing services for Mr. Darrell James Knatt, 55 were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home. He was laid to rest in Saint John Baptist Church in Belle Place.

The family received friends from 7 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

A native and resident of Belle Place, he died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at Basile Care Center in Basile.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife, Pearly Mae Jack Knatt of Jeanerette; one son, Monerca Charles of California; three stepsons, Thaddeus Lively, Travonic Lively and Ramad Sereal, all of Jeanerette; two daughters, Darrelyn Polf of Loreauville and NaKiesha Knatt of Norfolk, Va.;  his stepfather, Joseph Williams Sr. of Loreavuille; two brothers, Joseph Williams Jr. of Loreauville and Arthur Buggs of Flint, Mich.; three sisters, Lynn Lee and her husband David Sr. of Loreauville, Marguerite Williams of Port Arthur, Texas and Bernedette Munerlyn of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends who know that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

He joins in glory, his mother, Mary Dell Knatt Williams; father, Stanley Riley; one son, Darrell Jones; maternal grandparents, John Parker Knatt and Virgin Jefferson and one godchild, Virgin Lee "Poonie" Whaley.

Active pallbearers will be John O. Broussard Jr., Shaylon T. Alexander, John F. Anthony, Jason J. Knatt, Johnny Sams and Thaddeus Lively.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph S. Williams Sr., Joseph S. Williams Jr., Joseph Sylvester Williams Sr., Ervin Knatt, Robert A. Jones, Clement Knatt, Joseph Riley and Jack Barrilleaux.

Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
