Ronald Dugas

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Memorial Park Cemetery for Mr. Ronald Dugas, 80, who passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2008 at LA Extended Care at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches.

He was a native of Port Arthur, TX and resident of New Iberia.

Mr. Dugas was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.  He worked with Daniel LaBiche Construction and Moveable Offshore.  Ronald was the neighborhood Granddad and loved telling stories to the neighborhood children.  As a pastime, he raised worms and gave them to the children for fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rena Trimm Dugas of New Iberia; nieces and nephews, Debbie Broussard, Dorothy Rogers Mahl, Ray Rogers, Charles Rogers, and Nell Broussard; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Gertrude Montondoen Dugas; brother, Malcolm Dugas; and nephews, Joe Broussard and Robert Paul Broussard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Dugas’s name to AAA Hospice, 2111 Hwy 14, New Iberia, LA  70560.
