He will be awaiting the resurrection in Providence Memorial Park in Metairie.
A resident of New Orleans, he died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at 1:30 a.m. in Iberia Medical Center.

He was a barber and a member of the Louisiana Barbers Union. He was also a member of the Historic Second Baptist Church of New Orleans and later united with Little Zorah Baptist Church after Hurricane Katrina. Rev. Day was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, Dorothy Brown Day of New Orleans; two sons Byron Joseph Day (Pamela) of Laurel, Md., and Eric Anthony Day (Geisel) of New Orleans; one daughter Sharon Green of Laurel, Md.; three sisters Enola Billszar of Sacramento, Calif., Adnola Chaney of Vacaville, Calif., and Barbara Welcome (Adam Sr.) of Olivier; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
He joins in glory, his parents, McKinley Day and Clayola Simon.
Active and honorary pallbearers will be members and friends of the immediate family.
