Etienne Chevalon Jr. COTEAU — Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Etienne “Jun” Chevalon Jr., 81, at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Inter-ment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 2 until 10 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time. A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Chevalon died on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Dauterive Hospital. Mr. Chevalon was a U.S. Army veteran entering the service at the end of WWII. He was the owner and operator of Chevalon’s Plumbing (now Queen City Plumbing, Heating and A/C). Jun raised Rat Terriers, loved race horses, and thoroughly enjoyed baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelie Bourque Chevalon; five children Huey Chevalon and his wife, Vicki, Susan Edmonds and her husband, Ed, Sandra LeBlanc and her husband, Danny Sr., Arlene June Stein and her husband, James, and Etienne “Brush” Chevalon III and his wife, Jody, all of New Iberia; eight grandchildren Michelle Bergeron, Stephanie Dugay, Nicole Semar, D.J. LeBlanc, Justin LeBlanc, Chelsea Stein, Conner Stein and Cigi Chevalon; three great-grandchildren Brandon Bergeron, Hailey Bergeron and Blake Chevalon; one great-great-grandchild Ava Brooke Chevalon; and five sisters Evelyn Viator, Mildred Boutte, Gloria Broussard and Mary Joyce Romero all of New Iberia and Jeanette Viator of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Etienne and Clodora Lopez Chevalon Sr.; and two brothers Howard Chevalon and Austin Chevalon. Pallbearers will be Huey Chevalon, Etienne “Brush” Chevalon III, D.J. LeBlanc, Justin LeBlanc, Blake Chevalon and Conner Stein.
