WATERLOO, Iowa — Roy Dell “Raydell” Green 51, a native of Franklin, died suddenly after suffering a heart attack on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, in Waterloo, Iowa.

Roy Dell was a 1975 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended the University of New Orleans.  He was employed by Larry Duron Construction Company in Morgan City, for many years.

Roy Dell moved to Waterloo, Iowa in 1995, where he was employed by Eagle Ottawa Tannery for five years. He was currently employed by Omega Cabinets in Waterloo, Iowa.  He attended Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Michael Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three brothers, Wilson (Carolin) Brown of Baldwin, Louisiana, Herman Green and Lynn Green both of Franklin, Louisiana; five sisters, Geraldine Brown and Doris (Marc) Starks both of Waterloo, Iowa, Joyce (Michael) Johnson, Sandra Green both of Franklin, Louisiana, Dr. Celeste (Otis) Stansberry of Marietta, Georgia; two aunts, Idell Hall and Elizabeth Lowe both of Franklin, Louisiana; his long time companion, Curletha Nelson of Waterloo, Iowa; four stepchildren, Charaine Nelson, Clarissia Nelson, Azline Nelson, and Harrison Shelby III; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Roy Dell was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Annie Mae Green; two brothers, Charles Green and Harry Green; nephew Derrick Green; his cousins, Lee Ann Mandubourg and Glen Chris; five aunts, Lil Sue Thomas, Delores Green, Dorothy Green, Zenobia Wilson and Classie Tanner.

Wake Service for Roy Dell was held Monday, Sept. 1st at Sanders Funeral Home in Waterloo, Iowa.  Funeral Services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Antioch Baptist Church in Waterloo, Iowa.  The family would like to thank all those for their cards, florals, and prayers.
