LOREAUVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Millard Eldridge Sr., the former Laurence “Lokey” Prince, 91, will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The Reverend Buddy Breaux will serve as celebrant.  Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., in David Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thurs. from 8 a.m., until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Eldridge passed away on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at 7:50 p.m., in her Loreauville residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Eldridge was raised by her aunt, Constance Broussard Girard, after losing her mother as an infant.  An accomplished artist, Mrs. Eldridge’s paintings grace the walls of many area homes.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with and caring for her family.

Survivors include her sons, Tasey Eldridge and wife, Rebecca, Barry Eldridge and wife, Bonnie and Harold James “Jimmy” Eldridge and wife, Mitzi, all of Loreauville; grandchildren, Sandy Eldridge of Thailand, Cyndi Eldridge of Loreauville, Gretchen Willett and husband, Adam of Lafayette, Bannon Eldridge and wife, Julie of New Iberia, Brand Eldridge of Loreauville, and Alix Eldridge of Loreauville; great-grandchildren, Bralyn Eldridge and Alyce Eldridge of Loreauville, and Austin Willett of Lafayette; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Eldridge in death were her husband, Millard Eldridge Sr.; parents, Octave and Laura Broussard Prince; sons, Thomas Charles Eldridge and Millard “Mike” Eldridge Jr.; sisters, Emma P. Prosper, Edith P. Crochet, Lou P. Hebert, Margaret P. Judice, and Anna Belle P. Breaux; and brothers, Tasey Prince, Earl Prince, Russell Prince, and Angus Prince.

Serving as pallbearers are Tasey Eldridge, Barry Eldridge, Jimmy Eldridge, Bannon Eldridge, Adam Willett, and Brant Eldridge.
