Principal Arrested

Mrs. Henderson

I am appaled at the citizens of New Iberia who have already thrown a good man to th wolves! Mr. Sias was not formerly charges nor indicted on these charges. He was arrested. Maybe most people do not know what arrested actually means! I have been knowing Mr. Sias for over 30 yrs and NEVER would I have even fathomed that these allegations were true. I know the penal system quite well and I am certain that the truth will prevail. It isn't uncommon for the newspapers ,media , and police to quickly slander someone's reputation. And after they have done that, they issue a one-lined retraction! Amazing! It is in time's like these that we need to stick together. Now everyone has negative things to say about Mr. Sias but when he helped your child or generated money into your schools or talked to your out of control teen, he wasnt so bad then! I, for one, will wait to see the outcome of this because I know that Mr. Sias would not submit himself to such scrutiny so easily. You are not who you hang around contrary to popular belief. He hung around neglected, untrained, and miscreants all day every day for the past 3 years. Werent these children somone's child? Why was the Alternative School opened again? If parents would correctly rear their children then the school would not exist. Mr. Sias is somone's brother, son and father.  If this was your son or daughter, would you just automatically write them off as you have done to Mr. Sias? Has New Iberia Police Department never made a mistake of this capacity? I pray for all of you! Not so much for Mr. Sias because he was aware of the racial divide going in and never did he waiver. Can you say the same? I also wonder if the apologies will fly as high as the accusations? I love Mr. Sias dearly and I will always be here for him. I want to be the one he remembers as a "friend that sticks closer than any brother" not one who ran when times got tough. I'm here Mr. Sias. ALL THE WAY TO THE FINISH LINE!

" maybe he is innocent and maybe he is guilty but it really doesnt matter because contraband is contraband. He of all people should know that when you come in contact with narcotics you dont just leave it in your home or even destroy it yourself...you turn it over to the people who were trained to do this sort of thing!! oh and quit whining about ooooooo hes a black man hes a black man well whatever because im black and you dont hear me feeling sorry for him. "

" Well all I have to say is that no matter what degree you think you know a person you never truly know a person. No one but ones ownself knows what he/she is truly capable of. I know people of VERY and I mean VERY high status in New Iberia that I have PERSONALLY seen doing things that one would never imagine of this person. like I said you never truly know a person unless you are that person yourself!! "

" Why is it that everytime a BLACK man gets arrested, regardless of his stature, does it turn into a racial conflict?!?!?! You don't hear people saying "Oh, he/she got arrested because he/she is WHITE !" This man should take responsibilty for his actions and quit relying on HIS PEOPLE to defend his honor !!!!!!! "

So just because you drank a coke on the sidewalk with the guy and think you know EVERYTHING about him doesn't mean much. Believe me that there are people you know doing things you would not imagine. "

" How come everytime someone gets arrested it turns into a racial dispute? Is that a way to get dismissed of the charges that you are ACCUSED of? Lets look at what is commited and not a racial thing so if you choose to let color hold you back so be it.And just remember who FREED the slaves any way! That was for you Rev.Clown if the shoe fits wear it! " Now come on, don't be silly-Sias had contraband from the students at his personal home? I never heard of such nonsense. I am an employee of IPSB and let me tell you, that is not how that is handled. I know Sias and have nothing against him one way or the other and personally could care less if he is guilty or not. My problem comes with the fact that he was all over the news and front page of the newspaper but Baudry was not. In my eyes, that is not fair at all. "

" Perhaps Mr. Sius did many good things for his school. It does not change the fact that if he is indeed guilty, he should face the same consequences as anyone else. I honesty hope the police did make a mistake. It would be a travesty for it not be a mistake and have someone who has made such detrimental career decision. "

" Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. Your opinion is that Mr. Sius is innocent. Others opinions may be that he is guilty. You choose to support Mr. Sius. But, it is unnecessary for you to stand on your soap box and shout accusations of racism. If he is indeed guilty, he is not guilty of being black and educated. He is guilty of making very bad decisions, despite how intelligent he is known to be. "

This person surely waas not leading the alternative school by a good example. I am sure there was no mistake, I am sure they found evidence to prove their case against him.

You can know someone for 60 years and never really "know" them.

If you are so sure of his innocense why didn't you bail him out? "
