Lilly Gachassin Barilleaux

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Harold “Bill” F. Barrilleaux the former Lilly “Jane” Gachassin, 83, at 2 p.m. Saturday at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Patrick Burke officiating. Interment followed in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. A Rosary was recited at 11 a.m. Saturday.

She died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 in a local health care facility.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Jane enjoyed crocheting, camping and music. She loved spending time with her pets, all Boston Terriers.

Survivors include her daughter; Antonia Wenberg of Kauai, Hawaii, three grandsons; Michael Shane Dieudonne and wife Wendy of Kauai, Hawaii, James Dieudonne and fiance Arielle Valaitis of Ontario, Calif. and David Dieudonne and wife Shirley of Oahu, Hawaii, four great grandchildren; Christopher Logan Dieudonne of Fla., Aaron Vanpoole of Maui, Hawaii, Chanel Dieudonne of Oahu, Hawaii and Kailani Laíakea Dieudonne of Ontario, Calif.; her beloved pet, “Skeeter”; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her second husband; Harold “Bill” Frank Barrilleaux, first husband; Jack Juan Richards, parents; Dominic Gachassin and Antonia Grey Gachassin, grandson; Donald Christopher Dieudonne, three brothers; Sterling, Clifford and Nicholas Gachassin Sr. and three sisters; Eunice Louviere, Daisy Gachassin and Rose Landry.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU nurses at Dauterive Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana.
