Loston was being treated at Dauterive Hospital after she was the passenger in Edward Collins’ 1999 Mercury Sable, which failed to yield when crossing U.S. 90 near Louisiana 318 in St. Mary Parish and proceeded forward into the path of a pick-up truck, the state police said.
In a report issued by Trooper David Anderson, 54-year-old Joe Monceaux of Berwick was operating a 1999 Dodge pick-up eastbound on U.S. 90 when she struck Collins, 92 of Charenton, on the Dodge’s driver’s side front door.

Monceaux had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
It is unknown at this time if Collins and Loston were restrained at the time of the crash, the state police crash report said.
