A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrea Marie Guerin, 47, will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in New Iberia, with Msgr. Ronald Broussard officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery, New Iberia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A resident of New Iberia, she passed on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 12:11 p.m. at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. A graduate of Waipahui High School in Waipahui, Hawaii, she later attended a Junior College in Waipahui, Hawaii, and was a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She was an educator in the Iberia Parish School System and taught at Anderson Middle School and Sugarland Elementary School. She was also a member of the Louisiana Teachers Association.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Roy Guerin Jr. and Lois D. Guerin of New Iberia; two brothers Gregory Guerin (Pam) of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Roy Guerin III (Kaci) of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Pamela G. Swift (Dennis) of Memphis, Texas; four nephews, Michael Wayne Swift, Kyle, Spenser and Adam Guerin; two nieces, Chanelle Elizabeth Swift and Mya Elizabeth Grace Guerin; two godchildren, Kendrick Porter and Michael Swift; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She joins in glory a brother, Michael Peter Guerin; maternal grandparents, James and Marie Duvemay; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Florinda Morse; uncle Ronald Guerin.

Active Pallbearers are Curtis Thompson, Leary Adams Jr., Eric Adams, John Guerin, Dennis Swift and Clyde McKelvy.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gregory Guerin, Roy P. Guerin, Michael Swift, Kyle Guerin, Spenser Guerin and Adam Guerin.
