Camille Triviz

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Peter Triviz, Sr., the former Camille Sarabia, 81, will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  The Rev. Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Triviz passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 3:05 p.m. in a New Iberia hospital.

A native of Sidney, Mont., Mrs. Triviz had lived in New Iberia since 1970.  Prior to moving here, she had lived in the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic for several years.  She was lovingly and faithfully married to Peter Triviz, Sr. for 62 years, having wedded on the day after her 19th birthday.  

Mrs. Triviz was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  She was active in the New Iberia community, volunteering her time at the Social Service Center for 10 years, and welcoming people to the area as a member of the Newcomers’ Club.  An accomplished bridge player, Mrs. Triviz achieved Life Master status with the American Contract Bridge League.  

Mrs. Triviz was an excellent cook, and her greatest joy was caring for and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Triviz, Sr. of New Iberia; sons, Peter F. “Rick” Triviz, Jr. and wife, Karen of New Iberia, and Ronald S. Triviz and wife, Giovana of Lafayette; grandsons, Garrick Triviz, Derek Triviz, and Brent Triviz, all of New Iberia, Daniel Triviz of Houston, Texas, and Eli Triviz of Denham Springs; granddaughters, Keely Oleske and husband, Stephen of Scott and Chastity Wolfe and husband, Joshua of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, Drew and Drake Thibodeaux of Scott, Stryker Oleske of Scott, and Madison, Aubree, Kailey, and Kaiden Wolfe, all of New Iberia; nieces, Irene Valdez of Denver, Colo. and Rita Triviz of Las Cruces, N.M.; and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Triviz of Albuquerque, N.M. and Poncho Triviz of Denver, Colo.
