With the win, the New Iberia Senior High-based Sting advances to the championship round regardless of Sunday’s outcom, when Cajun Sting plays a Lake Charles based school at 2 p.m.
Shawn Olivier allowed three runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings for the win and Myles McGhee pitched 2/3 inning in relief for the save.

Shea Simmons absorbed the loss for Blue Stream as he allowed four runs, only two earned, in seven innings.
For Blue Stream, Kyle Clement had a solo home run while Nathan Gondron and Thomas Theriot each had two singles in the losing effort.
Blue Stream falls to the loser’s bracket and will play an elimination game at 6 p.m. today.
According to the bracket, Blue Stream still has a chance for a rematch with Cajun Sting for the state title Monday.
Blue Stream must win today’s elimination game, then if Cajun Sting wins its game, the two will face off for the state title Monday.
If Cajun Sting loses, Blue Stream will face the Lake Charles team Monday afternoon for the right to face Cajun Sting for the title Monday night.
Blue Stream 6, St. Louis 3
Mike Landry had two solo home runs while Jacob Rogers, Miles St. Upery and Thomas Robin each had two hits as Blue Stream handled St. Louis 6-3 Friday to advance to the winner’s bracket final.
Rogers batted in a run in the win, and St. Upery and Robin each had two singles for Blue Stream. Brock Romero had a single in the win.
Zack Lejeune picked up the win for Blue Stream as he entered the game with no outs and bases loaded in the second inning and proceeded to allow only two hits and no earned runs in six innings.
He struck out four and walked three in picking up the win.
Cajun Sting 7, Plaquemine Post 167 4
Zane Migues allowed four runs on two hits with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings as Cajun Sting advanced to the winner’s bracket final.
Myles McGhee pitched the final two outs for the save.
Jarred Pappra took the loss for Plaquemine as he gave up six runs and walked six.
Dylan Maturin scored three runs and Jacques Bourque scored two runs for Cajun Sting
Thomas Smith and Bryce Sibille each had a hit for the Sting in the win.
Landon Arceneaux had a double in the losing effort for Plaquemine.
