The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT team raided a New Iberia home early Friday, seizing two pounds of cocaine and arresting two people, authorities said.

Although 20 Xanax tables, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorder, were found, IPSO Public Information Officer Wendell Raborn said the focus of the operation was the two pounds of cocaine believed to be at the scene.

“That was the major score of the raid, and that was a major amount,” Raborn said.

Diamond Green, 29, and his girlfriend, Teniqueka Shavers, 24, were arrested following the raid at 144 Cotton St., the sheriff’s office said.

The Iberia Parish SWAT team executed the search warrant, which was the culmination of an undercover investigation by the IPSO Narcotics Division.

Both suspects were charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute schedule IV narcotics and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.

They each remained in the Iberia Parish Jail Saturday with bonds set at $250,000.

Six juveniles were present in the home at the time of the execution of the search warrant.

None were charged and all were released to relatives.
