In a press release issued Wednesday afternoon, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said it determined the surveillance tape taken by the robber was a dummy tape and the actual recording stayed in possession of the gas station.
Deputies responded to Brother’s Self Serve gas station, 1626 S. Hopkins St., at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday after a man wearing a mask walked into the business with a gun, demanding money and the working surveillance tape.

IPSO Public Information Officer Wendell Raborn said an undetermined amount of money was taken and that no one was injured during the robbery. The suspect was last seen walking west on Admiral Doyle Drive wearing a brown shirt and dark-colored shorts, deputies said.
A witness described the suspect as being 5-feet, 8-inches tall and about 150 pounds.
Detectives investigating the case said a person of interest is being sought at this time.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 369-3714.
In Wednesday’s The Daily Iberian, the address of the incident was incorrectly listed as 600 W. Admiral Doyle Drive.
