Funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Jeanne Gilmore, age 86, the former Jeanne Bourque, who passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 5:30 a.m. at her residence in Carencro.

Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.  The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Julie Broussard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ.  The songs will be Isaiah 49, The Old Rugged Cross, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place, and Just a Closer Walk with Thee (French).

Ms. Gilmore was a native of Weeks Island and Patoutville and had lived in Carencro for the past three years with her daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Willis.  She was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church and was a member of Bonne Mort Society.  Jeanne loved French music and enjoyed dancing.  She loved her friends at Paradise Day Care, especially her driver, Gail.

Survivors include one son, Chad B. Gilmore and his wife, Laura, of Downsville; four daughters, Jennifer G. Guidry and her husband, Willis J., Jr., of Carencro, Jacqueline "Tickie" Pisani and her husband, Albert, of New Iberia, Jeanie G. Norris and her companion, Nelson Aucoin, of Lafayette, and Jill G. Dartez of New Iberia; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence M. "Sut" Gilmore, Jr.; her parents, Barnaby Bourque and the former Marie Rogers; twin sons, Eugene and Lawrence Gilmore; three brothers, Eugene Bourque, Ben Bourque, and Pierre Bourque; five sisters, Venada Charpentier, Marie Walker, Mae Jolet, Rena Aucoin, and Eunice Hebert; and one grandson, Jarrett Paul Pisani.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8a.m. until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Toby Pisani, Willis Guidry, Jr., Albert J. Pisani, Cully P. Guidry, Chad B. Gilmore, and Justin Gilmore.
