Mustang twin bill

LOREAUVILLE -- Alex Delahoussaye and Jordan Miller each had two hits as the Coteau All-Stars advanced to the Pony League Mustang Sectional Tournament on Thursday in Mamou with an 11-8 win over Loreauville Monday night in the Mustang District IV Tournament championship game.

Brayton Gallantine, Christian Ivey, Zack Bergeron, Logan Louviere and Travis Landry each had a hit for Coteau in the win.

Landry, Gallentine, Miller and Bergeron combined to pick up the win for Coteau, who will play the District 2 Champion Friday at 6 p.m. in the sectional tournament.

Michael Vital had two hits, including a double, Nicholas Amy doubled and Bryson Broussard also had a double for Loreauville.

Amy went the distance for Loreauville in the losing effort.

Loreauville 13, Iberia Crushers 11

The Loreauville All-Stars trailed 9-1 in the loser’s bracket final but rallied with 12 runs to beat the Iberia Crushers Monday and advance to the championship series against the Coteau All-Stars.

Kylin Broussard and David Lee each led Loreauville with two hits, including a triple apiece. Michael Vital also had a triple, while Matt Dugas, Grant Hebert and Rodney Joseph each singled in the win.

Ben Gullotta pitched all six innings and struck out 10 for the win.

Jonathon Charles had a home run to lead the Crushers, Maverick Geoffroy and Wade Jeanminette each had two hits, and Drake Desormeaux, Jon Segura, Charlie Gaspard and Cayman Crapell each had a hit in the losing effort.

Charles, Donovan Lopez, Segura and Gaspard all pitched for Iberia in the contest.

Pinto League

Coteau/Rynella 11, Loreauville 1

Sebastian Jenkins had a home run and Chase Gondron doubled as the Coteau/Rynella All-Stars advanced to the Pinto (ages 7-8) Division Sectional Tournament with their win over Loreauville Sunday.

Destin Comeaux and Kyle Evans each had two hits, David Scenz also had two hits, including a double, Chase Gondron doubled and Tucker Bourque, Daniel Segura and Brant Leslie all singled in the win for Coteau/Rynella.

Kagun Senette doubled and McKaylon Vital, Joe Eskind, Dale Sonnier, Rhette Viator and Brock Romero each had a single for Loreauville in the losing effort.

Coteau/Rynella will travel to Picayune, Mississippi this week for the Pony League Sectional Tournament which begins play Thursday.
