Title game time

LOREAUVILLE — A team from Iberia Parish is guaranteed to represent the area in the Pony League Sectional Tournament later this week as the eight team double-elimination district tournament in the Mustang Division (ages 9-10) is down to the final three teams.

The Coteau All-Stars advanced through the winners bracket and will wait to play the winner of the loser’s bracket final between the Loreauville All-Stars and the Iberia Crushers.

Loreauville and Iberia will play tonight at 6 p.m. with the loser eliminated from the tournament and the winner will play Coteau tonight at 8 p.m. with a second, if necessary game set for Tuesday night at 6 p.m.

Loreauville 11, Arnaudville 10

Kaylin Broussard had two hits, including a double, Michael Vital had two hits and Matthew Dugas and Landon Westcott each singled as Loreauville reached the loser’s bracket final with an 11-10 win over Arnaudville Sunday.

Vital, Rodney Joseph and Broussard each pitched for Loreauville in the win.

Jonathon Richard doubled and Caleb Robin had two hits for Arnaudville in the loss.

Cade Louque and Michael Cormier each pitched for Arnaudville.

Coteau 14, Iberia Crushers 9

Brayton Gallentine had two hits, including a double, Travis Landry had two hits and Christian Ivy and Zac Bergeron each singled as Coteau advanced to the title game with a 14-9 win over Iberia.

Landry, Bergeron and Jordan Miller each pitched for Coteau.

Cameron Esponge had two hits while Charlie Gaspard, Jonathon Charles, Donavan Lopez and Edward Varnado each had a hit for Iberia.

Drake Desormeaux, Gaspard and D’von JeanBatiste each pitched for Iberia.

Loreauville 11, South St. Landry 6

Nicholas Amy, Max Dugas, Rodney Joseph and David Lee each had two hits and Joseph and Lee each had a double as Loreauville eliminated South St. Landry 11-6 Sunday.

Kaylin Broussard and Joseph each pitched in the win for Loreauville.

Trey Bex and Chaney Hebert each had two hits for South St. Landry while Hebert, David Smith and Cain Cormier each pitched in the loss.

Arnaudville 17, Delcambre 7

Kaleb Rubin had two hits, Ian Thomassee tripled and Jonathon Richard homered as Arnaudville eliminated Delcambre 17-7 Sunday.

Cade Louque went all the way for Arnaudville for the win.

Hunter Delahoussaye had two hits, including a double, while Logan Frederick, Zac Frederick and Olivier Nunez each had a hit for Delcambre.

Nunez and Dezzi Viator each pitched for Delcambre in the loss.

Coteau 23, Loreauville 13

On Saturday, T.J. Norris had four hits, including a double, as Coteau dropped Loreauville into the loser’s bracket with a 23-13 win.

Christian Ivy, Jordan Miller, Zac Bergeron and Logan Louviere each had a hit for Coteau.

Logan Turner pitched for Coteau in the win.

Kaylin Broussard had two singles, Nick Amy doubled and Matthew Dugas, Ben Gullotta, Landon Westcott and Rodney Joseph each had a single for Loreauville.

Broussard was the pitcher for Loreauville.

Arnaudville 8, Erath 7

Also on Saturday, Brody Artigue and Cade Louque each doubled and Caleb Rubin singled as Arnaudville knocked Erath out of the tournament with an 8-7 win.

Jonathon Richard was the winning pitcher for Arnaudville.

Trevor Peltier and Taylor Collins each tripled for Erath while Hunter Champagne, Eric Belander, Jace Peltier and Coy Sonnier each singled in the loss.

Iberia Crushers 28, Delcambre 8

Jonathon Segura and Wade Jeanminette each had three hits, while Charlie Gaspard, Edward Varnado, Colt David, Jonathon Charles and Drake Desormeaux each had two hits as Iberia Crushers beat Delcambre 28-8 Saturday.

Donavan Lopez, Charles and D’von Jean Batiste each pitched in the win for Iberia.

Conner Dubois had two hits and Dezzi Viator doubled in the loss for Delcambre.

Zac Frederick, Kalin Nero, Hunter Delahoussaye and Viator each pitched in the losing effort.
