End the public nuisance By OgreLet’s see, how can I say this without coming off as an ogre? Is this the way it’s always going to be? It seems that every public function we used to enjoy is ruined by the screeching and caterwauling of a group who go by the name of Louisiana Kids. Not only is it bad, but the sound system is so loud no one can carry on a conversation. Most of the attendants are adults, particularly the veterans who are older in age. Isn’t part of this event intended to honor them? We used to enjoy this and other events, but no longer can with all this noise. My family used to like to attend the Rotary Club’s Red Beans and Rice Supper. We used to eat inside and visit with neighbors who we do not get to see that often. No more! We’re lucky if we can stand to pick up our food and retain our eardrums. Why do the organizers allow this nuisance? After all the hard work to plan and execute a function, it goes to ruin. I don’t blame the young people or want to hurt their feelings. It is the adults in this organization who exploit these children who should be ashamed of themselves. |
