Former Catholic High pitcher Ben Suit led the Legends to a 7-0 victory over the East Cobb Shamrock on Thursday. Suit allowed two hits, walked one and struck out eight in seven innings for the win. Jordan Johnston gave up two runs on one hit with two walks in two innings in taking the loss.
Suit’s CHS teammates, pitcher Ben Hoffpauir and catcher Shea Daly, also are on the Louisiana Legends roster. Hoffpauir has pitched several relief outings for the team.

The Columbus (Ga.) Cobras took advantage of several errors to beat the Legends 4-3 at Centennial High School in Roswell, Ga., on Saturday to eliminate the Lafayette-based team from the tournament. Tony Dischler of Rayne took the loss.
The Legends finished tied for third in the six-team Pool T. The Central Florida Black Racers and Columbus Cobras each went 4-1 in pool play to advance, with the Legends and the East Cobb Shamrock each going 3-2. The Katy (Texas) Sting White team went 1-4 and the South Florida Raptors were 0-5 in the pool.
On Tuesday, the Legends beat the Katy Sting 5-1 at Mt. Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Ga. Ryan Cooper of Sulphur allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts and no walks in seven innings for the win. Tyler Mack gave up four runs on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in taking the loss.
Leading hitters for the Legends were Granger, 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run; Grant Dozar of Morgan City, 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs; Hoover, 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs; and Tyler Frederick of Acadiana, 2-for-4 with a run.
On Wednesday at South Cobb High School in Mableton, Ga., Central Florida beat the Legends 5-1.

On Friday, the Legends beat the South Florida Raptors 5-1 at Pope High School in Marietta, Ga. Tyler Cook of Berwick got the win, allowing one run on one hit with six strikeouts and three walks in six innings. Kerry Doane took the loss, allowing three unearned runs on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
Mikie Mahtook of St. Thomas More went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs for the Legends.
The Louisiana Legends 17s will be at a tournament next weekend in Marietta, Ga., and have invited Ben Suit to join the club for the tournament. In two weeks the 18s play in a tournament in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
