A resident of Erath, Suzanne  was raised in Loreauville. She was a devoted school teacher having taught at Abbeville High School and Erath High School.

The Gates of Heaven opened up and received such a beautiful, caring, loving, artistic and last but not least educator. Suzanne, during her short 39 years, touched so many lives in one way or another. As an educator, her knowledge has left a little bit of herself in each student she touched. Suzanne always gave 110 percent whether she was teaching or being a friend to anyone. Suzanne may have arrived late for an event but she was there, all 110 percent.

Suzanne’s most proud achievement of her life were her three boys, Austin, Jean-Paul and Jacques. She loved them dearly and always had a smile when she would talk about each of them. She had the most devoted mother, Cheryl, who was loving, caring and her friend. Suzanne has taught each one of us about faith, her favorite saying was “Every Day Is a Gift”. Friends and family request that everyone spread Suzanne’s Word “Every Day Is a Gift”.

She is survived by her sons, Austin Touchet, Jean-Paul Touchet and Jacques Touchet, and their father, Francis Touchet Jr. all of Abbeville; parents, Connie and Cheryl Broussard Patin of Breaux Bridge; uncle, Hardy Broussard and wife Shirline and their children, Greg, Shawn and Charissa Broussard; cousins, Mark, David and Chris Broussard; great -aunt, Gercie Fauchaux; paternal grandparents of her children, Kathelen and Francis Touchet Sr.of Abbeville, and their children, Rachel Binion, Steven Touchet and Chris Touchet; birth father, Patrick Henry Alexander of Houston; half -brother, Robbie Vallo; half- sister, Sabrina Alexander and aunt, Norma Landry and husband Fuzz, and their children, Michael, Catherine, Charles, and Jeanne.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Noe and Marie Broussard; paternal grandparents, William and Elmena Alexander and uncle, Wayne and wife Betty Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Josh Oliva, Greg Broussard, Shawn Broussard, Michael Richard, Francis Touchet Sr., Cole Touchet, Robbie Valo and Trenton Vallo.

Honorary pallbearer will be the little town of Erath with the big heart.

The family would like to extend thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, The Dream Foundation, the staff at MD Anderson, Dr. Paulette Blanchette, the staff at Lafayette General Hospital, the towns of Abbeville and Erath and all the friends and family for supporting Suzanne during her sickness. And a special thanks to Rev. Chester Arceneaux a special friend of the family.
