Verna B. Doucet

COTEAU — Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Dennis Doucet, the former Verna Mae Boutte, 85, at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Crochet officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  

A native of Youngsville and resident of Coteau, Mrs. Doucet died Thursday June 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Belle Teche Nursing Home.

Visiting hours will be held today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.  with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8 a.m until time of service.

Mrs. Doucet was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She was a very loving person who will be missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Una Bourque of New Iberia, Lilly Langlinais of Youngsville, Mrs. Burney “Lou” Lopez of Coteau and Dorothy B. Dugas of St. Martinville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Doucet; parents, Remus and Eva Romero Boutte; brothers, Sterling and Stanley Boutte and sister, Eunice B. Romero.

Pallbearers will be Brady Lopez, Harry Dugas, Lester Boutte, Taj Lopez, Kenneth Boutte and Ken LeBlanc.
