Naimes L. Landry

FRANKLIN—Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Rivest J. Landry, the former Naimes Laviolette, 89, at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Lloyd Benoit officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.

 Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home, 314 East Saint Peter St., New Iberia; and on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 8 a.m. until service time at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

 She was born June 27, 1918 in Catahoula, LA passed through the open door that our Lord Jesus had waiting for her on June 12, 2008 at 4:46 p.m. in her home.

 Mrs. Naimes was an active member of Church of the Assumption serving many years as a Eucharistic Minister, Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society, Come Lord Jesus, Evangelist of Legion of Mary and church answering service.

 Naimes was also known for her sweet demeanor and beautiful smile but always said “Don’t get too attached weíre all only on loan from God” and since god loaned her to us we say “Thank You God”.

 She was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and person. Her husband Rivest J. Landry, Jr. died in 1965 but her life was enriched by their ten children and their families; Bessie A. Tugwell (husband Fred Tugwell, deceased) and their children; Sunday T. Bodin, husband Ken, daughter Ariel; Torre Tugwell, children Lasher and Hailey; Michael J. Landry (deceased), widow Kitty Belanger Landry, and Michaelís daughter Keelie L. bonin, husband Gilbert (Gil), daughter Rachel; Fred J. Landry, wife Becky Billiot Landry and their children Larry Kyle, Shelly L. Faucheaux, husband Gerard and children Lauren, Aaron & Austin; Fred Landry, Jr., wife Dawn Champagne, and their children Chance and Gage; Rivest J. Landry, III and wife Nancy Lewis Landry, and their children Jason and wife Amy, Bryan and wife Shannon, and Sarah Landry; Peggy M. Landry, Betty L. Cortez, husband Charles and their son Christopher; Gary L. Landry, wife Marsha Braud Landry, and their children Heidi Rhineholt, husband Craig, children Madison and Gabrielle; Kristi Landry; Esther Landry (husband Ronald L. Landry, deceased) and her children Nick J. Landry and wife Brandi, two girls Kaitlyn and Kymberlyn and one son Kaden; Robin V. Landry, children Bryson and Brayden; Craig Landry, and Alesia (Lisa)Lancon, husband Ricky J. Lancon, Sr. and their son Ricky, Jr.

 Mrs. Landry was also preceded in death by her siblings.

 Pallbearers will be her grandsons Torre Tugwell, Ricky Lancon, Jr., Fred Landry, Jr., Nick J. Landry, Christopher Landry and Bryan Landry.

 Ken Bodin will serve as a honorary pallbearer.
