Recall Rickey Huval

I read the Daily Iberian.  I listen to Jeff Boggs on kane.  I know my property taxes might go up because Rickey Huval raised my assessment.  If my taxes do go up I hope I people will join to sign a recall petition because everyone I talk to tells me that he says he didn't do it right and just guesstimated.   Now he wants me to pay for his mistakes.  I find it too convenient that he didn't raise my assessment before he went unopposed for assessor.

I'm glad the mayor and city council didn't raise my taxes but that's probably because it's an election year.  I want to see if my parish councilman and school board member decides to raise my taxes since they have 3 years for everyone to forget about it.  If they do they need to be recalled too.

If you're tired of these politicians always trying to dig in your pockets then we need to consider recalling all of the ones who vote to raise our taxes and we need to start with Rickey Huval because he's the reason why our taxes can go up.

When I told him about Huval's crying and excuses , he laughed and said if Ricky worked for Lafayette as a field agent, and used the methods he says he uses in Iberia parish , he would be fired. "

By a private appraiser my home is worth $186,000. Which is backed by the sales of the homes in my neighborhood at this price that are selling! My tax appraisal was $146,000. I am not complaining but I just think he may have gotten tired when he got to my road. Why is there such a difference with the two values? "

We are basically doing his job for him. Why don't we eliminate the tax assessor position, and simply base the tax off of an independent appraisal? That would give our local economy a good little kick every four years, and would basically cut out the middle man (Mr. Huval). "
