Wake up to AGL threat

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 2:12 PM CDT

After reading Verlie Langlinais’ letter to the editor of Sunday, May 18th concerning AGL and its gas storage in the imperfect salt dome of Lake Peigneur, I have to write.

The largest problem that I see people living around Lake Peigneur are making is ignoring that AGL is a limited liability corporation.

Any corporation with the potential for doing as much damage as AGL can to such a large area of any state should lose its limited liability charter and be required to carry a tremendous amount of liability insurance

Let Rickey Huval assess the value of liability insurance that AGL should be forced to carry in Iberia Parish. Other parish assessors getting water from Chicot should assess the value of the water they get from Chicot and the loss of property value that will occur with salt water intrusion into the Chicot Aquifer.

As to the other problem Verlie lives in the explosion area and she will blow up if! I’m probably far enough away where I’ll just drive away.

Come on people wake up! AGL is making a large bomb in our area and using very much water from Chicot Aquifer to do so. Let’s move AGL offshore, far offshore.
