Chrysler LLC has introduced its own way of stimulating the economy — an exclusive gas price protection policy that insures a $2.99 per gallon of gas price for the next three years with eligible purchase.

According to a press release from Chrysler, customers can enroll in a new program called “Let’s Refuel America” and receive a gas card that immediately lowers their gas price and keeps it there for three years.

Paul Michelle, sales manager for the Musson Patout — Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership in New Iberia, said present fuel costs and the unpredictability of fuel costs in the future is a primary focal point of everyone’s conversation these days.

“We have very few transactions that we complete here that the customer does not address the fuel cost issue,” Michelle said.

“Every product that Chrysler sells, with few exceptions, is eligible for the plan,”

The offer is available in the Teche Area until June 2, though Michelle said, depending on how well the incentive plan is received by the consumer, it could be extended further.
