ST. MARTINVILLE— A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Theresa Dautreuil Formeller, 88, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating.

Entombment will follow in St. Michael Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be held today from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Formeller who died Sunday, May 18, 2008 in Lafayette.

A native of St. Martinville, Mrs. Formeller graduated from SLI with a teaching certificate, having taught at Bayou Chene and Coteau Holmes before joing the US Marines during World War II. She was stationed in Santa Barbara where she served as an air control operator. After the war, she and her husband made their home in Chicago until retiring and moving back to Louisiana.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond Formeller and wife Becky of Galesburg, Ill., Michael Formeller and wife Leslie of St. Martinville, Thomas Formeller and wife Bridget of Spring, Texas and Robert Formeller and wife Lisa of Denham Springs; brother, Gaston Dautreuil Jr. and wife Anita of St. Martinville; sisters, Ruth Boudreaux of St. Martinville, Jean Broussard and husband Lee of St. Martinville and Adelia “T-Beb” Murphy of Dallas; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Formeller Sr.; parents, Gaston and Yvonne Bienvenu Dautreuil and sister, Rita Bulliard.
