On behalf of the Iberia Cultural Resources Association and IBERIABANK, I’d like to thank everyone who helped to make “Symphony Sunday in the Park” such a great success! For the second year in a row, the attendance was wonderful and the concert enjoyed by all! Although the weather prevented the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra from performing outdoors, the New Iberia Senior High Auditorium provided great acoustics and a comfortable setting for this fine musical presentation. From the selections from the opera “Carmen,” to the John Philip Sousa’s “Liberty Bell March,” the reactions from the audience proved that New Iberia is ready for more concert productions.
Without our generous patrons and sponsors, our hard-working committee and board of directors, this concert would not have been possible! In addition, the generous publicity by The Daily Iberian and other media outlets provided us with the tremendous attendance that we had at our April concert.
Such a delightful event like “Symphony Sunday in the Park” will hopefully become the New Iberia springtime event that the entire community anticipates every year!
