Devillier, 41, was forced to hit the ground running two weeks ago when, two days after he reported to work, he faced the airport’s annual FAA inspection — a standards inspection the airport has to comply with in order to receive a operating certificate renewal.
Acadiana Regional Air-port’s operating certificate was renewed by the FAA making Devillier’s third day on the job a successful one.

Although Devillier recognizes Acadiana Regional Airport is more tailored to the aviation support industry and businesses that do some type of service on planes and helicopters, he believes there is “no limit to where this place can go.”
Among his list of goals for airport development are land development, negotiations for more hanger construction and working with the state Department of Transpor-tation and Development to improve signage to the area, which he said, referring to existing signage, “even a trail of bread crumbs would be an improvement at this point.”
“I am here to promote Acadiana Regional to the best of my ability and any development here would not only benefit the city and parish but the entire region,” Devillier said.
