Police seize $500 in prescription pills

ERATH — Narcotics agents seized $500 worth of prescription pills during the arrest of an Erath man, a press release from the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Sever Renard, 19, was charged with possession of Alprazolam and Hydrocodone with intent to distribute.

He was booked into the Vermilion Parish Jail.

According to the press release, agents with the Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotics Task Force received a tip that a suspect was in possession of several illegal prescription pills at a location in Erath.

Agents located Renard Friday at 409 W. Veterans Memorial Drive, the press release said.

During a search, agents recovered 26 Alprazolam pills, 22 Hydrocodone pills and $150 in cash, the press release said.

The drugs had a street value of about $500.
