I am for zoning and did not want a vote of the people. Another person called Ernest Freyou,
Parish President, and Mr. Freyou said I am for zoning. Does this mean no democratic
process of the people.
I encourage the people of Iberia Parish to call their councilperson and let him/her
know to vote no zoning.
I hope the Parish Council does not approach this in a Kangaroo Court method
and not let the people of Iberia Parish vote on this. Dennis Erhardt the college professor
that is ramroding this for the Iberia Parish Council has a certification in Urban Planning
but what experience does he have? David Moore the engineer has no experience
in land use application.
Dr. Dennis Erhardt, continually talks about planned growth with zoning. Do the people of
Iberia Parish need the council to plan and control their lives? This is what the Iberia Parish
Council and Dr. Erhardt plan for you.
I understand Tommy Granger with the Iberia Planning Commission that approached zoning
recommends a vote of the people if the Iberia Parish Council wants to address the subject.
My councilman Barry Verret told me this morning he is for a vote of the people.
The Assessor recently sent out notices of 2008 tax for property. Most people’s tax doubled.
Now ask the Iberia Parish Council what about the roads? How many more people need to
get injured or killed because of the poor roads we have?
Do the people of Iberia Parish want to see the Iberia Parish Council keep spending money
on an ineffective mosquito control program and issues such as zoning when important
Issues are not even addressed.
