Rellius J. Boudreaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebratedfor Rellius “Bo” John Boudreaux, 65 at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic with the Rev. Charles Langlois officiating. Readers are Francine Garzotto and Terry Schexnayder. Gift Bears include Kenneth and Brenda Stansbury.

Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum with full military honors.

Visiting hours will be held today from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary  prayed at 7 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Friday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Boudreaux  died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in New Iberia.

A native of New Iberia, Mr. Boudreaux is a retired Major from the U.S. Army, having served two tours during the Vietnam Conflict and he also served in the National Guard.

He is the recipient the Silver Star Medal, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star with a five oak leaf cluster and several other commendations. He retired from the Harris County, Texas Adult Probation Department, with over 20 years of service and worked in Homeland Security and Emergency Management for Iberia Parish for the last two years.

 Mr. Boudreaux is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the American Legion and the VFW. He was a founder of the Vietnam Veterans Association and a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Stansbury Boudreaux of New Iberia; sons, Scott Boudreaux of Nice, Calif. and  Jeff Boudreaux and wife Renee of Huffman, Texas; daughter, Beth Boudreaux and husband Brian Timken of New Iberia; brothers, Ronald Boudreaux and wife Frances of Hot Springs Village, Ariz., Roland Boudreaux and wife Faye of New Iberia, Raymond Boudreaux and wife Barbara of New Iberia and  Kenneth Boudreaux and wife Ann of New Iberia; sisters, Mary Lee LeBlanc and husband Phillip of New Iberia, Peggy Taylor and husband Dan of Oolpewah, Tenn. and Phyllis Hulin and husband Harold of New Iberia and  grandchildren, Tyler Boudreaux, Alison Boudreaux and Isaac Timken.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Elia Moore Boudreaux.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Boudreaux, Jay Garzotto, Tyson Stansbury, Dusty Hulin and Heath Hulin.

    " Please accept my condolences on the loss of Rellius, my first cousin. Didn't know him well but his Aunt Sid, my Mom, when she was with us, was so very proud of him.
