What Will wants is to slap the public in the face again. He wants his sick and vacation pay. Well lets see he was charged with better than $500 thousand  he mishahandled, and used for personel reasons, yet he only paid back $100 thousand. Sounds like a really good investment to me. take 500, pay back 100 and keep the other 400. Now he wants his sick and vaction time. What he should get is  some jail time instead. What about his slush fund that he got to keep also, even though he is not running for public office. Looks like he feels he is entitled to what ever he ask for. It is time to tell him no and to make him accountable. I believe that what was told to the public was just the surface of what he had done wrong not all things were put out for the public to see.

" When our elected officials get caught with their hand in the cookie jar it certainly appears they are held to a lessor punishment. Sure they do the sentence given to them however minute. But they continue to think the community owes them. The tax payers of Iberia Parish do not owe Will anything. If he wants to be left alone he should tell those that still want to scratch his back to stop offering up the people's money. If it weren't for that nobody one care about Will one way or another. Just another criminal. "

" He took from the taxpayes. What he did as community service was a joke. House arrest was a joke to. He paid back less then he took. Now the poor ole soul wants his sick and vacation pay. I say he got all his payment in full when he took what wasn't his. He has his money he collected from when he was running for Parish President again. Use that as his sick and vacation. I say let the public vote on that one. He still has followers on the council. I say enough is enough with poor ole Will. "

" THIS is why New Iberia is the way that it is. There are too many people worried about other peoples lives, and not worried about their own. Yes, he did wrong, he served his time, paid whatever he had to pay, even if it wasn't all of it, how do you know that he doesn't have a time period to pay it in. But what concern is it of yours? I agree with the first comment. That was what, a year ago?! It's time to leave well enough alone! "

no more crooks wrote on Apr 1, 2008 11:09 AM:

" No Will it is not time to leave the man alone. He stole from the public our trust. As far as I'm concerned we gan dog him all day long. How can you justify giving this criminal a party at the Gougenheim to celebrate taking off his ankle bracelet? The guy is a crook, not a returning war hero. "

" House arrest-are you kidding? He did and went everywhere he wanted-that is not my understanding of house arrest-I agree with the initial writer-He should have lost his retirement as well-Why is it when the everyday individual does wrong he gets the book thrown at them-A public official/person of means get away with it-Injustice in this country for the everyday working person-the rich buy their way out, separate laws for them-it is proven every day, open the newspaper= I fully support the new bill in being submitted-Maybe they can make it retro active back to include Will- "

Will wrote on Mar 31, 2008 6:47 AM:

" Ain't it time to leave the man alone? He paid for his crime. He plead to a felony count of malfeasance in office and, as a result, lost his career. He and his family were embarrased. He'll never vote or run for office. He paid a fine. He had 6 months house arrest. He had 480 hours of community service. He now has 5 years supervised probation. He's done. Let the man live in peace for goodness sake. Too bad we don't hold the rest to the same standards. "
