HELP THE HORSES

SICKEN ANIMAL LOVER

I am sicken by the way some people care for their animals. There are three horses on Jefferson terrace near  hwy 90. There is a lack of adequate food and water and no shelter.  These horses are in poor condition and need vet care asap. Whoever owns these horses should be ashamed of themselves for letting them get into this condition. These horses  have been out there months. How do you as a pet owner expect these horses to eat out of an icechest?

One of the horses  has an open  wound on his back with fluids running down and what looks like magotts. The hip bones are sticking out  and appears to be very underweight.

Horses all need shelter from wind, cold, heat and the elements so it is fair to say that no matter where you live, the most basic form of adequate shelter involves some place where your horse has free access to shelter from the changing elements.   Which your horses do not. This disgusts me!

So please all you animal lovers, stand up for these poor horses and call 369-3711 and report it. Maybe you can get them to do something!

"

I also seen your horses and the living conditions. Not so great. i seen them tied up months ago, that is no way to care for horses. i hope you get the care the horse needs. I thank the people for getting involved. We need more people to get involved on issues like this. And I hope you would do the same. "

If I ever see an animal neglected or abused in any way I will do what I have to, to get that animal out of that situation if it means getting it myself. People need a license to drive they should have one to own animals and have children and pass a background check to have them "

I have seen the horses on Jefferson Terrace, they were on a short lead line, then they put up a fence with no shelter. I do not think they have any water source, they have to bring it in, how fresh can it be. Something must be done NOW not in a few days. "

Well she did that but now it's getting worse again. So I will call again. That would be my advise to you. By the way this property is in Coteau. These people should not own animals that they can't or won't take careof. "

That something as simple as taking the law into the laws hands has been totally ignored because of obvious laziness as the sheriffs department has become. It's simple, serve the owners and take the horses. From what I read a few people have offered to take them. Problem solved. Horses safe, happy, loved and on the road to recovery!!!!! "

I slowed down to get a better view and discover a thin, weak, sorrel horse in a small lot. You can literally count the poor animal’s ribs. I stop for an even closer look. The horses has a dull look in their eyes and its feet show signs of neglect by their ragged appearance. There is no grass in the lot, nor any hay. "

There are 3 in Iberia Parish and I can't speak in regards to the Ward 1 or 2 area constables, the Ward 3 Constable does absolutely nothing and will chastise you if you call his house after hours. "
