The Zoo of Acadiana, said city official Jane Braud, who is involved in organizing the event, will be at the gazebo with two of them.
“People see art in different forms, and a baby giraffe is certainly artistic,” Braud said.

“Every Art Walk seems to attract more artists,” Braud said. “It’s really exciting that we’re progressing.”
There also will be three local schools participating, and artists will be at more than 25 locations.
Dave Hostetter, a local astronomer, will be there hoping for clear skies and letting passersby look through his telescope. Braud said Hostetter said if the sky is clear, there should be a good view of Mars.
Paul Schexnayder, the artist selected to design the Festival International poster, will be signing it at Books Along The Teche, along with several local authors.
Another local artist present will be Norva Mestayer, who sells Louisiana scenes of subject matter “ranging from magnolias to mallards” around the world.
There also will be an acoustic guitar player. The band “Blue Merlot,” with Brenda Lowry and Joshua “Bubba” Murrell, will be playing at Clementine following the walk. Murrell just won a Grammy.
“The community has always come out and supported the Art Walk, so we hope they come out. It’ll be a good time,” said Chairman of the Arts and Cultural Commission and Mayor Pro-Tem Freddie DeCourt.
“It’s a good opportunity to socialize, buy some local art or just enjoy strolling down the sidewalk, spending a nice evening in downtown New Iberia,” Braud said.
The event is biannual. Braud said after a survey of businesses and artists was conducted, organizers have decided to schedule another Art Walk on April 26.
